Wow...I've been a very busy gal ...still am, really...and haven't had much time to come hang out over here lately!  What's your excuse?

My excuses include the fact I've been either running to workshops, meetings or on the computer most of the work day (well, it's Friday night and I'm still sitting in my office taking a moment from work I'm trying to finish!)  Embarrassed and just haven't had much extra time or inclination to continue sitting at the computer...especially now with Spring being sprung!

Here in the SF Bay area it's been a gorgeous week of spring weather and the sailboats are calling my name...gotta get out on the water this weekend!  I have tried to get to see some music in some of my free time...like last night, went down to The Catalyst in Santa Cruz to see Patty Griffin.  Don't know her stuff really and haven't ever seen her play...but it was a great show and I'll be looking more closely for the first CD to buy.  Any recommendations?

Has anyone braved the weather to go to see any Catie shows lately?  Shoot, that reminds me...a good friend of mine called me as she was getting lost in Asheville, NC to see Catie.  Very funny...I was still at my computer when she called...talked about how she couldn't find the place.  I pull up Google maps and give her directions to a place I've never been before...amazing when you think about it!   Cheesy  Anyway...I forgot to call her back to ask about the show...duh!  She was supposed to be sending my regards to Catie too...she's so shy, I doubt she actually did...better call her on it!   Wink

There was some stupid stuff going on over at catiecurtis.com too about some ignorant fool's ramblings about ...once again... equating equal marriage with wanting to marry and screw my dog (that I don't have).  Sigh...never ceases to amaze.  I just didn't have the time, energy or inclination to get into that argument over there...didn't think it was really the right place to go into all that...besides, it was clear that you just can't have a rational conversation with an idiot like that.  I did start a comment...but the computer did something wacky and I lost it...decided that meant I should just keep my trap shut anyway.  Soon thereafter, the webmaster moved the comments and conversations to go die on another thread.

So...what are you all up to?  How come no one's said anything lately?  Hmmm..interesting to note, realize that one of the reasons I haven't been over here lately was that I haven't had to fight to keep spambots off the list...that's been a nice change...maybe the upgrade helped, Bernie?   Grin

Anyway...these are my ramblings for now.  Hope all y'all are well and happy in your part of the world...in spite of the insanity in so many other parts of it.  It might be a while before I'm rambling here again anyway...so until next time...peace, love & understanding to you all! Kiss

My excuse is that my wife and I just bought a house! Packing and working like crazy (to replenish our bank accounts) hasn't left much time for other stuff, but I'll try not to be such a stranger. Smiley

Hi HEATHER!  Hi SOXFAN!  Happy Spring to you both and everyone else in catiecurtis.net world.

HEATHER-I saw Catie a couple of months ago.  It was memorable, as always.  The show was amazing and she sold a TON of merchandise.  She did not bring enough of some of her CDs though and people had money to spend.  Most people bought two or three cds, not just one.  They loved her.  It was so great to know her music was going to be heard all the more.  There was lot of snow involved on the ride home though.  Always an adventure.

Yes, lots of crazy comments posted on cc.com.  Glad you started to reply, I know you would have lots of insightful things to say.  But it probably was better that your computer gave out on you.  I gave my two cents...I couldn't say nothing.  I was raised by parents who believe like that guy.  It's very personal to me.

It doesn't look like Catie will be out your way in the near future, but I see Girlyman is in your neck of the woods next month.  Any chance you'll see them?  I'm excited for their new CD coming out in April.

SOXFAN-Congrats on the house!  That is a big step.  Trying to work on that here, too.  It's daunting!

Hey Heather, Abby and Soxfan! Bernie here. Oh yes I love Spring. I've been busy with my little girl, trying to spend quality time with her. I've recently gone back to working at the office after a few months of working from home. I've started inline skating again, and it is alot of fun.

Heather: It's definitely a great time for sailing! I missed the last Catie's shows and I really want to go see her. And yes, not much spambots recently huh? Wink

Soxfan: Congratulations on the new house! Have fun moving!
