As I said in the News announcement, the new CD "Sweet Life" is soon to be released...and it's really sweet, in the colloquial and literal senses.  I've been listening to it - several times through already - listening differently or paying attention to different details each time...prepping for a review that is a bit more informed than "it's sweet"!  Roll Eyes Wink

Wished I could have caught her in Wolfboro at the Folk Festival...anyone there that can tell us all about it?

The release is early September, so I took a quick look at her tour schedule to see if I could get an idea when she may be out west here.  Nothing officially booked yet, but I see a gig in Eugene, OR on Oct. 16 and then a gig in Seattle two days later.  So...that says to me she'll probably start further south and travel north...which means she'll probably be here some time the week of October 12.  Just a guess.  I haven't asked her about it yet...but having been around a while, I'd be willing to bet on it...and I don't gamble.  Cool

Looking forward to seeing my friend again, hearing more of the tunes live (hmmm...wonder how much of a band she'll have this time around?  hmmm...) and helping her get the word out...oh, and of course, selling merch! Cheesy

Heather;

Where has everyone been!?!!??!  We can't wait for the new CD.  It's been quite a while since we've seen Catie live.  Our son is at camp in Wolfeboro but the Folk Festival was in the middle of his 2 weeks - would've been great if we could have seen her on one end or the other of the 2 weeks...  Speaking of Wolfeboro - we've got to go get ready to make the drive and pick him up!

Hi Guys!
Welcome back!  Don't know where everyone went...these things ebb and flow sometimes.  Would like to see more action with the new CD...tell a friend...or two...or twenty! Wink  Catie was kind and sent a preview copy of the CD, you'll love it! Smiley

Wolfboro...I had fun at the folk festival there a couple years ago!  Wish I could have gone again with Catie and Cheryl Wheeler playing!  A couple weeks earlier, my pals The Wailin' Jennys played their regular music series at the barn that I would have liked to see too.  But hey, I did get to hang out with them both at the Kate Wolf Festival and at the California WorldFest...both fun festivals, and my first time at festivals.  Although I camped in my truck at both instead of hanging at the hotel (since I was a guest of the band...it was cheaper that way...free!), I did get a back stage pass...which was pretty cool.  Got to talk with John Gorka, Greg Brown, Ruthie Foster, Vance Gilbert, Fishtank Ensemble singer and fiddler, gals from Moira & VOCO, among many others as well as those who I didn't meet but were just around and whose backstage vibe was fun, like Keb Mo, Ani deFranco, Ozomatli, and Los Lobos. Oh, and my pals Blame Sally played at Kate Wolf too.  So, I've had my share of music this summer!

Hope your son had a great time at camp...speaking as an old camp director! Cheesy
