I just realized that I hadn't come back to talk about the Berkeley shows, even after I had taken copious notes on my Treo during the show!

Unfortunately, it won't all be as clear as if I'd done it sooner, but what I got is listed below. All in all, a fun couple of shows...always good to see Catie and it was a double pleasure to see Rachel again, since she's now a New Yorker...in the Village, don'tcha know! Glad to see she'll be back here in March 2008, but she's got one other show...which just so happens to mark the one-year pre-versary of the deposing of the boy king george...Jan 20, 2008 in Nashville. If you're around there, go to the renowned Blue Bird Cafe and give Rachel a shout out for me!
Wed., Oct. 24: World Series Game 1 score that night BOS 13 COL 1...Catie was very happy.
Set List
1.
I forgot this one.2. A cute story about fear. Celia being afraid of spiders and lightening striking during a big thunderstorm at camp in MI this last summer...but they sing through it. A new song that my working title is "Sing", don't know if that's what she'll call it, don't remember if she actually introduced it by title.
3. Kiss That Counted
4. "Lovely"? Again, a new song that I'm not sure she'll call it that. She talked about how she would love to do a film about GLBT folks in the 30's 40's 50's...of course, I'm sure she'd be writing the soundtrack too, with nice old timey sounds like this song!
5. Water and Stone ...playing with her looping machine, she laid down three different tracks to accompany herself!
6. She told the story about floating down the river with the kids and nearly getting pegged by teenagers jumping off the bridge. Imagining they're in their last summer together with buddies before moving on with life...and how maybe jumping off a bridge is a good prelude to the rest of life at that age. This segues into a song she's calling, for now, "Teenagers Jumping Off a Bridge".
7. This was the lovely Joshua Trees song...how everything is waiting to grow.
8. A funny story about her waiting somewhere (I can't remember where she was) and finding herself reading Cat Fancy article about Feline Depression...who knew? she says. Then she started to worry if Sam the Pug got feline depression...played a little clip of Sam snoring.

Which somehow all lead into "Dandelion".
9. Rachel Garlin joined her on stage for "Troubled Mind"
10. Passing Through
ENCORES
Magnolia Street
and a new one "Happy"
I think I missed a couple, but it was a split bill with Rachel Garlin...who's set list I failed to record because it didn't dawn on me until I thought about tracking Catie's set list that I could use my Treo...ha, technology! Never fear...I remembered it the next night.
Oct 25 - World Series score this night BOS 2 COL 1, a much closer game, Catie is still happy.

Many of the stories were the same, the set lists did change up a little in recognition of people like me who came for both shows!
Rachel Garlin's set - # means a new song. Rachel's working on a new CD too...yea!

3. Strange
4. Sing # ...the Celia story & song
5. People Look Around
6. Teenagers # ...jumping off the bridge
7. Bicycle Named Heaven (my shout out request!

)
8. Life Goes On ...huh, my notes say "more committed or fuck it?" i'm sure that made sense when i wrote it...but i don't remember the whole context.

9. Lovely # ...the GLBT movie song
10. Kiss That Counted
11. Joshua Trees # ...ah, now these notes mention the story as "oppressed minority to feel welcomed by the desert". I think that's explanatory enough...and if you've ever been to JT, you just know what she's talking about...but think the people who saw joshua trees as welcoming were a bit nuts!
12. Sam's snoring and feline depression story...then another funny story about taking Celia to a "big festival" only Celia thought she was going to see a "big vegetable" and cried when she found out she would be seeing any of those.

Another very cute story, that I can't remember the details, but it was Lucy's response of "no more mean talk about kissing"...it was very funny & cute, sorry...guess you had to be there.

13. New Flowers
14. Troubled Mind ...with Rachel
